EL PASO AREA PUBLIC SCHOOL ENROLLMENT AND REGISTRATION FOR ACADEMIC
YEAR 2023-2024

Public school enrollment is opening very soon in El Paso! And thankfully, it has gotten A LOT  more streamlined in El Paso since COVID. You wouldn't believe how manual the process was for some schools and school districts before COVID.

ONLINE IT IS!

Thankfully, the process for every El Paso regional school district should be entirely online now (thank you, COVID).

DON'T HAVE AN ADDRESS YET?

Some school districts are much more flexible about school enrollment when you do not have an address identified yet, however, some military families have experienced a great deal of inflexibility in other school districts.

OPEN ENROLLMENT

With the exception of Canutillo ISD, all major school districts in the El Paso area are considered open enrollment meaning you can request your child attend a school other than the one to which your residence is zoned.

DUAL LANGUAGE

Interested in dual language for your child? Some school districts are pretty lax about when in the enrollment process you select a dual language for your child while others require you to plan ahead more and apply directly to a dual language program. Check with the Central Office of the targeted school district to learn the most recent guidance for your situation.

CHARTER SCHOOLS

They have their own enrollment dates, so check with your target school for further guidance.

AY ’23-24 ENROLLMENT OPENS ON THESE DATES FOR THESE DISTRICTS:

• Clint ISD: March 25, 2023  

• El Paso ISD (EPISD), Ysleta ISD (YISD): April 3, 2023 

• Socorro ISD (SISD):  

                   Pre-K new student registration: April 10, 2023. 

                   All returning SISD student registration: April 17, 2023. 

                   Kinder-12th grade new student registration: May 15, 2023. 

• Canutillo ISD: Yet to be determined as of this blog post, but look for April sometime.
